Founder/Chairman Rahamaniya Group
There are lots of
people in the Nigerian oil sector, just like any other sector of the economy
where you have people who are serious and big players, as well as people who
are in the fringes, as well as the pretenders.
So it is not
uncommon to meet big players on the pages of newspapers doing analysis or
speaking to the government on various policy directions as it affects them and
the industry. While some are also big but hardly talk. You hardly hear them
comment on government policies or programmes but they too, are top players in
their sectors. They are hardly heard criticising or commending government
actions or inactions. They are just quietly operating, doing their thing and running
their own world. They are big players in their own right but putting faces to
their organisations can be a little tasking. This is because the
establishment or system they have together is what you know, you
hardly get to meet them Chairmen or Chief Operating Officers.
Self-effusive and
publicity-shy Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa Bashir belongs to the latter group.
He is the founder,
Chairman, Group Managing Director & CEO of the Rahamaniyya Group. Having
grown through the years not just in character but also in education, you can
hardly fault him as a gentleman in business. Unlike many of his likes, He
obtained his HND in Business Administration with Upper Credit and he is an
alumnus of the famous Ahmadu Bello academy. He is a visionary, philanthropist, inspirational
leader and is possessed with abundance of business acumen. His core strength
lies in his calmness and excellent positive human nature, that he uses
effectively to win over any other human being.
Abdulrahman Musa
Bashir, the Chief Executive Officer of Rahamaniya Group is undoubtedly one
of man that has grown his business with passion.
Established in
October 2003 as an oil trading business, the Rahamaniyya Group’s specific focus
is on the Nigerian market, and they set out to be the leader in the downstream
sector. Over the years, the Rahamaniyya Group has grown into a full-fledged
downstream company in Nigeria with various divisions.
The Organization has
had a long journey since then and achieved milestones after milestones despite
all odds. Today, Rahamaniyya Group has a large depot strategically located at
Apapa in Lagos. The depot has its own Jetty through which it receives large
cargos of up to 250000 MT. It has a combined storage capacity that makes even
its competitors green with envy.
It has a huge
combined storage capacity of 80 million litres of AGO, PMS, DPK, LPFO, and ATK
thereby having capacity to receive more than a full cargo of a ship at a
time.
They also have
strategically located retail stations across Nigeria which enable them to meet
the fuelling needs of motorists and other commercial customers. They offer
products delivered in a safe and secure atmosphere without compromising
quality. Rahamaniyya Group has a fleet that enables them to meet the needs of
their customers through a logistics SBU. Their fleet of trucks are fitted with
the state of the art facilities such as trackers and seals to guarantee safe
and prompt delivery of bulk products to client destinations.
The aviation fuelling
business unit is a new Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to be added to key areas
of operation and their first Aviation Fuel Depot is located at Nmamdi Azikwe
International Airport Abuja.
Liquefied Petroleum
Gas, or LPG, is an essential component of the energy needs for countries
struggling to reduce their carbon emissions as it is a much cleaner burning
fuel. Used as fuel in heating appliances, cooking equipment, and vehicles, LPG
is made during natural gas processing and oil refining.
Rahamaniyya Oil and
Gas has a steady supply of LPG from African oil fields and Middles Eastern
refineries. The LPG is extracted from heated crude oil at distillation towers
and can be used as is or separated into its three primary parts: propane,
butane and isobutene. They sell competitively priced LPG of consistent quality,
and also arrange for shipping. Rahamaniyya Oil and Gas is a key player in the
regional LPG market. Through its trading activities, they help refiners market
a fuel that they might have flared or disposed of in the past.
GASOLINE
Gasoline is the
driving force that powers development and commerce throughout the world.
Rahamaniyya Oil and Gas supplies West African gasoline from RON 92, to RON 95.
They provide competitive prices, coupled with steady supply and expert
delivery. They provide their customers with the gasoline specification
appropriate for their region, working with a range of refiners, oil
companies, and distributors while also operating in a growing number of markets
across Africa, Europe, South America, and South Asia. They offer a range of
logistical assets that combines into the highest value for their customers.
KEROSENE
Ultimate Oil and Gas
provides energy suppliers the products they need for their markets. Kerosene is
used widely throughout Africa, South Asia, and South America as a way of
heating homes, powering ovens and cookers, and even domestic illumination.
Additionally, it is used to power jets, or even create pesticides. Also known
as paraffin wax, kerosene is thin, clear and relatively cheap. By leveraging on
their strategic partnerships and operations division, they are able to supply a
steady stream of quality kerosene at competitive prices to distributors in the
markets where they need it most.
JET FUEL
Jet fuel is a middle
distillate, or a by-product of refined crude oil, situated between the lighter
and heavier crude oil factions. As its name suggests, it is used primarily to
power jet engines. With more people flying than ever before, jet fuel demand
growth is expected to rise in the coming decade. At Ultimate Oil & Gas, a
Rahamaniyya Group subsidiary they offer expert knowledge and flexibility to
respond promptly to supply and demand imbalances.
They primarily deal
in Jet A-1 fuel that is sourced directly from refineries throughout the MENA
region. Just like every other quality product from the Group, this is delivered
on time.
To complement the
units above, which are located in Nigeria, they also have M/s Ultimate Oil and
Gas situated in Dubai, which looks after sourcing of products from across the
globe to its various customers.
BIRTH OF ULTIMATE OIL AND GAS
Established in 2016,
Ultimate Oil & Gas is a full-fledged oil and gas trading company and a
regional leader in downstream services. Wholly owned by Nigerian-based Rahamaniyya
Group, it came into being with a mandate to meet the growing fuel needs of
Sub Saharan Africa, while supporting Rahamaniyya’s downstream operations.
Rahamaniyya Oil and Gas is Nigeria’s top net importer of refined petroleum
products.
At Ultimate Oil
& Gas, the idea is to leverage on the expertise in trading, operations,
trade finance, chartering, and risk management, as well as establish itself in
its strategic location in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) – a premier
free zone for commodity trading in Dubai, UAE – to expand the company's
business, secure new markets, and bring steady financial returns to
shareholders.
Over time, and with
the activities of its subsidiary, Rahamaniyya Group has become one of the
biggest players, indeed if not the biggest player in the storage sector. With
the largest farm tank in the West African sub-region. It is not only from farm
tank that the Group has distinguished itself. With a large network of retail
outlets spread across the country, they are also major players in the
distribution sector.
The Organization has
undoubtedly had a long journey since inception and achieved milestones after
milestones despite all odds, facing challenges even from competitors in their
lines of business.
With the dedicated
workforce and due to many initiatives that have taken over the last few
years however they are poised to make quantum leap forward
But the Rahamaniyya
Group is not just oil and oil related businesses. They also have other multi
billion Naira assets.
It is however in the
property sector that the young billionaire has made his mark especially in
Abuja. His properties are spread over the major and highbrow districts. There
is no way the top ten people who own properties in the city would be counted
without mentioning the Rahamaniyya boss. His choice Estate, Rahamaniyya Estate
located in Utako and other parts of Abuja are indeed some of such
properties.
His own residential
abode, located strategically on Ministerial hill in Maitama Abuja is a paradise
on earth. The twin properties, which are believed to be worth billions of Naira
are just posters of the opulence that he exudes.
Years back, when
this writer visited his garage, the state of the wheel cars there would make
any urbane car dealer green with envy. None of the cars there was two years
old. Most, were indeed, design specifics and customized to suit him.
HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITIES
To residents of the
ancient city of Sokoto however, Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa Bashir is known for
something else.
In a city where alms
giving and humanitarian acts are not uncommon, the Rahamaniyya boss towers
above many others.
He is well known for
his philanthropic activities and his name is on the lips of many as someone you
can run to when in need. Wealth, they say is nothing without its impact on the
life of those who ordinarily should not have been impacted by it because they
are not connected either to the owner of the wealth or his workers.
Abdulrahman Bashir
gives value to wealth by impacting the lives of his people back home in Sokoto
and all that comes across him.
